Hi everybody,
I've had several requests from students who want to keep working on the Treasure Hunt through the weekend and turn it in Monday instead of Friday. But that would give them an advantage over everyone else, and some people may already be quite happy with their progress toward the Friday deadline or have weekend plans, or both.
Here's a compromise:
- You can turn in the Treasure Hunt Friday by 4 p.m. or Monday by 9:45 a.m.
- If you turn it in Monday you must add a Fifth section to the four described in the assignment handout.
- Sections one through four will be your grade for Treasure Hunt #1, just like the rest of the class.
- Section five will be graded as part of Treasure Hunt #2, but you will not be allowed to make additions to it after Monday.
- The fifth section is the "Internet Resources on Your Topic" section, basically as described in the Dead Tree Edition, with two exceptions.
- You may use Yahoo as well as Encyclopedia Britannica Internet Guide to find the three "Section five" treasures. Come as close as you can to your topic, but stick to those sources and list the three best useing the DTE format.
- In addition to the Title, Web address, Brief Description, and Source for each site (as described in DTE, include one or two sentences of Evaluation for each of the three sites. Example:
Description: Home page for Triangle-area bluegrass club, with calendar of events and links to home pages of other music organizations and individuals.
Evaluation: Not a slick commercial site, clearly a labor of love. Original content includes sound samples of local banjo players recorded at summer festivals in North Carolina.
Source:... see DTE assignment- You may use the Section five treasures as part of your Research Web page, but you may also change or add to them based on your other research during the month.
