Copying and Using a Picture from Another Page
When you see the image in question in your Netscape window, place your pointer on the image.
Click and hold the mouse button (through #4).
After two seconds (or so), a lisk of options will appear. These options are the things Netscape will let you do with the image.
Move the pointer to "Save this image as..." and release the mouse button.
Now you will be given the chance to save the image as a file on your disk. You can also change its name if necessary.
However,
if the name ends with ".jpg" or ".gif," you should keep that part of the file's name the same.
Now you can upload the new image to the directory in your web server.
To use the image in your page, you will need to insert this tag:
<
img src="http://www.unc.edu/~echernof/background.gif"
>
This tag would call up your graphic if it is resident on the "www.unc.edu" server, located in the "~echernof" directory and named "background.gif." The part of this tag which is in quotes is the part which you will have to change it to be appropriate to your server, your directory and the file name.
