Details: The internship will focus on convergence, which is the exploration of video and still photography, or as the NPPA calls it, a platypus. This paper was one of the first and is still among the only newspapers to have a television station in its newsroom. The paper's photographers have all been trained to shoot video and do it on a regular basis to help a separate staff of TV shooters.
The intern will shoot daily newspaper assignments, will be responsible for producing one photo project, and will go through video training. The full-time internship is open to qualified minorities who are juniors, seniors or recent graduates in good standing. Portfolios should show creativity and diversity in general assignment, news, features and sports. Slide portfolios should be no more than 40 images. Digital portfolios should be self-running slide shows on Mac formatted Zip 100 or CD. Send cover letter, resume and portfolio.
