Meet the
Center Staff


The Learning Center, now located in the basement of SASB North (corner of Ridge Road and Manning Drive), serves undergraduates, graduate and professional students, faculty and staff of UNC-CH. It is one of seven units comprising Academic Services in the College of Arts and Sciences. Our goal is to help students learn more efficiently and perform better in their course work. Please download a printable copy of our brochure for further information. Summer hours for the Learning Center are 9am-5pm Monday-Friday.

 Other services at The Learning Center include:

  • Supplemental Instruction (SI) – course based guided study groups in biology, biochemistry, chemistry and physics (fall and spring)
  • Peer Tutoring (Dey Hall) – drop in evening tutoring (6-9pm T & W) in languages, sciences, math, stat, economics, business, etc. (fall and spring)
  • Academic Success Program for Students with LD/ADHD (http://www.unc.edu/asp) – formerly Learning Disabilities Services (2d fl, SASB)
  • TESTPREP for standardized entrance examinations for GRE, LSAT, MCAT and GMAT (open to students, staff and community; see below for schedules)
  • The Tutor Board, a centralized listing of tutorial services on campus (see menu to left)
  • Workshops on Study Skills Topics – offered upon request from student organizations and residence community programming

·         Summer TestPrep Courses for GRE : $150 course fee + textbook (PRACTICING TO TAKE THE GRE GENERAL TEST, ETS PUBLICATIONS, edition 10)

·         Summer MCAT Course: $150 course fee (includes materials)
