It was another success for MSEN Day! This year, the 20th MSEN Day was hosted by North Carolina State University (NCSU) in Raleigh, NC on Saturday, April 29, 2006.  The theme was “NC-MSEN Pre-College Program: 20 Years of Believing and Achieving to discover tomorrow”  The participating Pre-College Program sites were Elizabeth City State University, Fayetteville State University, North Carolina A&T State University, North Carolina State University, University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, and University of North Carolina at Charlotte, and Winston-Salem State University.  There were approximately 700 NC-MSEN Pre-College Program students from the seven sites participating in competitions such as mathematics and science testing, bottle rockets, egg drop, poster art, write-it, do-it, engineering and design, mystery architecture, picture this, quiz bowl, and an oratorical contest.

This year, University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill was crowned the first place overall winner. The second place went to University of North Carolina at Charlotte and third place went to Fayetteville State University. In addition, Kristen Wills from Elizabeth City State University Pre-College Program was the middle school Oratorical winner.
