The Wind
Ensemble
Auditions
for the UNC Wind Ensemble are held during the first week of classes
each semester. All students interested in participating in the Fall 2007 Wind Ensemble should attend an information meeting on Tuesday, August 21 or Wednesday, August 22 at 4p in Hill Hall 107. The audition consists of a brief prepared piece or two excerpts of
your choice (4 to 6 minutes total and including lyrical and technical material),
sight-reading and scales. Detailed information and sign-up sheets will be posted on the Band bulletin board outside the Band Office, Hill Hall Room 106, by August 1.
The Symphony
Band
Auditions
for the UNC Symphony Band are held during the first week of classes
each semester . All students interested in participating in the Fall 2007 Symphony Band should attend an information meeting on Tuesday, August 21 or Wednesday, August 22 at 4p in Hill Hall 107. Audition material will be distributed at this meeting or you may prepare a brief piece or two excerpts of
your choice (4 to 6 minutes total and including lyrical and technical material) for the audition, which will also include sight-reading and scales. Detailed information and sign-up sheets will be posted on the Band bulletin board outside the Band Office, Hill Hall Room 106, by August 1.
The University
Band
There
are no auditions required for participation in the University Band.
When needed, auditions are held for part assignment only. These
auditions will be held during the third rehearsal each spring. The
audition will consist of excerpts from the music being rehearsed
and sight-reading.
