Though my name is at the bottom of this module, I certainly wasn’t in on this alone! I’d like to thank UNC-BEST Professors Jennifer Coble and Miranda Thomas for giving me pedagogical support by helping make topics accessible and interesting for students. Moreover, Sarah Arnold, my technology mentor, played a huge role in teaching me how to build an interactive website! For more information about UNC-BEST, a licensure program for future science and math teachers, I encourage you to check out their main site.
Next, I'd like to thank Professors Richard McLaughlin and Roberto Camassa for allowing me to work in UNC’s Math Fluids Lab this summer. More specifically, I worked under Postdoctoral researchers Jennifer Prarie and Shilpa Khatri, as well as graduate students Sangduk Yu and Perry Harabin. I had an awesome time spending a summer helping with their research! Check out the site for the UNC Fluids Lab if you’d like to know more about current research.
Lastly, I’d like to thank the Howard Hughes Medical Institute (HHMI) for their generous grant for interns in the UNC-BEST program. As a future teacher, this research experience will be of great value as I work to help students bridge the gap between mathematics, science, and the world around them.
