Hylarie Kochiras works in early modern philosophy, with an emphasis upon early modern philosophy of science. She recently completed her Ph.D. with a dissertation entitled "Force, Matter, and Metaphysics in Newton's Natural Philosophy". Before shifting to the early modern period, she worked in moral philosophy and in metaphysics and epistemology, and has published in those areas. Her current projects include papers on Newton and on Locke.
