David's
primary interests are in the intellectual history of the early
period modern period, especially the history of natural philosophy.
From a philosophical perspective, he studies the development
of interpretations of the natural world through the course
of the Scientific Revolution. In particular, he is examining
the way in which the physical theories developed by natural
philosophers like Copernicus, Gilbert, Kepler, Galileo, Descartes,
and Newton changed over time.
