Kate Nolfi is graduating from Williams College with a degree with honors in Philosophy and a degree in Mathematics. Her areas of interests include epistemology, physicalism and consciousness, the self and the will, and Humean vs. Kantian accounts of normativity. Her senior thesis develops a Humean account of how we have come to think and speak in terms of truth and why it is reasonable for us to do so--an account which is an alternative to Blackburn's. Her writing sample explores the distinction between our knowledge of our own mental states and our knowledge of the world. She's looking forward to working more in the philosophy of mathemathics.
