Ty’s research interests are in the areas of environmental philosophy, ethics, and political philosophy. The title of his Ph.D. dissertation is "Preferences, Well-Being, and Value: A Critique of the Normative Foundations of the Economic Approach to Valuing Non-Market Goods.” His M.A. thesis is titled "The Value of Modesty: A Characterization and Defense of Modesty as a Virtue."
