David
Ripley arrived at UNC-CH in 2003. He has research interests
in logic, formal philosophy of language, and linguistics.
Currently, he thinks that some contradictions are true (although
they're all false), and that vague predicates have precise
extensions; tying these two themes together might be a neat
trick for an M.A. thesis. David's publications include: "Analetheism
and Dialetheism," written with J.C. Beall, in Analysis
(January 2004), and a review of John Woods, "Paradox
and Paraconsistency, in Notre Dame Reviews (June
2003), which was also written along with J.C. Beall.
