Synopsis
Eligibility: Students must be US citizens or permanent residents and enrolled in any accredited U.S. college or university as full time students in the 2001-2002 academic year. Students should have completed some basic course work in chemistry, biology and physics and have a grade point average greater than 3.25 to be competitive.

Program: Students will be engaged in full time research activities during the summer under supervision of faculty in laboratories of choice. Specialized training in laboratory safety is included in the program. A number of organized, scheduled events are included with the program. Weekly research meetings with other MG-REU fellows, lab staff and faculty, and seminars are provided.

How to apply: Submit completed application form and indicate research interest areas (check boxes by faculty names), along with a brief statement (1 page) of interests, past accomplishments (include research experience), future education and career plans, an official or unofficial college transcript, and two letters of recommendation (preferably from your advisor and another faculty member).
