Competitive stipend and housing allowanceSynopsis
Program activities include: Research in the laboratory of one of the faculty advisors; group seminar-journal club; seminars presented by biologists in research careers; field trips to a biotechnology company, industry, and/or ecological site; poster session in final week of project.Applicants should have completed introductory biology courses and have had a least one other course in the area of specialization. Graduating seniors are ineligible. Applicants must be U.S. citizens or permanent residents. Preference will be given to those beginning or continuing academic year independent research.
Application form, three letters of recommendation from faculty, resume, personal statement, and an official transcript of grades must be submitted. Any prior research experience should be noted.
Participants will be expected to contact their sponsor this spring and to begin suggested readings in preparation for the summer program.
