The Program
For nine weeks, participants work full time with UW-Madison faculty and researchers in state of the art research facilities. Areas available for study are very diverse. In addition to their individual research experience, students participate in workshops on research topics of interest, ethics, career choices, and preparation for the GRE. At the end of the program, students orally present their research at a symposium, and publish written reports of their work in a program journal, which will also be available on the program web site. Along with their educational experience, students also have the opportunity to explore UW-Madison and the city of Madison. This is a program administered through the Center for Biology Education.
In addition to research, students participate in seminars concerning standardized test taking (e.g. GRE), the graduate school application process, graduate student life, writing scientific research papers and applying for fellowships and financial aid.
