Synopsis
The Brody School of Medicine at East Carolina University is committed to educating primary care physicians, making medical care more readily available to the people of eastern North Carolina, and providing opportunities to minority and disadvantaged students.  It is offering an intensive, challenging summer program that allows participants to experience the pedagogical style and demands of the future medical school curriculum.  Topics include a demanding academic curriculum of medical studies, learning and study skills, and other seminars.

Guidelines
The Summer Program for Future Doctors enrolls at least 24 students. All applicants should have satisfactorily completed the following (introductory level college) courses: biology, chemistry, and physics. North Carolina residents receive preference although out-of-state residents are considered. Minority, disadvantaged, and nontraditional students are given preference, but all students are encouraged to apply.
