The University of California San Francisco Summer Research Training Program provides undergraduate students with the opportunity to conduct research in the biological, biomedical, and behavioral sciences. Through this comprehensive 9-week summer experience, the SRTP strives to prepare students for graduate study and a research career in the health sciences. Accepted students will be matched with a faculty mentor by the SRTP Faculty Review Committee. Under the guidance of his or her mentor, each participant will complete an original project, and present his or her findings at the end of the summer program with a written abstract, oral presentation, and poster presentation. In addition to daily work in the laboratory, participants also attend biweekly seminars and workshops.Guidelines
To be eligible for the Summer Program, a student must be a citizen or permanent resident of the United States, have completed at least three semesters or four quarters of course work, and have sophomore or junior standing at the time of application. Participants are expected to live in housing provided by the UCSF Summer Research Training Program. Contact
