Welcome

Long recognized for its contributions to the study of politics, the Department of Political Science at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill continues to build on its history as an integral component of the nation's oldest state university by vigorously pursuing excellence in scholarship, teaching, and public service. Our faculty members are at the forefront of their diverse areas of expertise, teaching and publishing on topics central to all the major fields of political science. We excel at the undergraduate level where students are introduced to a broad spectrum of political studies in courses from the basics to the specialized. At the graduate level, we count some of the nation's most promising scholars among our students. Many have already begun to make their marks on the field through their research and publishing endeavors.

We hope you will find this website a useful tool for learning more about the study of Political Science at UNC, whether you are a prospective undergraduate or graduate student, a colleague from another institution, a member of the media, or an alumnus seeking to keep in touch with the latest developments in Hamilton Hall.
