Join the State Politics Section
and
Receive State Politics and
Policy Quarterly!
At the 2003 APSA meeting, the State Politics and Policy
Section members approved a proposal to merge section membership with
a subscription to the journal State
Politics and Policy Quarterly. This is the journal we have
officially endorsed since its creation.
How does this work?
Faculty who are members of the American Political Science
Association can join the section at a cost of $27 annually (Click
Here for the APSA Membership page). This amount consists of the
previous $7 membership fee plus a $20 price for the journal. This
is actually a reduced price from the normal subscription rate of $42,
and is offered at this reduced rate to Section members only as a bonus.
What a Great Deal!
Graduate students can still join the section for the
$7 fee without receiving the journal if they prefer (Click
Here for the APSA Membership page). Those graduate students who
also want to receive the journal can subscribe directly with SPPQ
for $20 as well -- just Click
Here to contact the Editor directly.
Joining the Section is easy. Whether you are joining
APSA for the first time or want to renew your membership, simply go
to their membership link
and follow the instructions. You will be guided to check whether you
are currently in APSA's database or not. When you join (or renew),
you simply include the State Politics and Policy Section as an organized
section that you would like to join.
Why Make This Move?
This merger represents a great opportunity for both
the Section and SPPQ to expand and build on our recent successes.
This plan should expand the readership of SPPQ, which benefits
all scholars of state politics. We also hope it expands the membership
of the section as now membership comes with a reduced subscription
rate for a quality academic journal. Finally, it should enhance the
visibility of state politics research that, combined with our annual
conferences, should help to place state politics research more centrally
in the discipline.
