Current Ph.D. Students

 

S.M. Judge (entered 2005) was born and mostly raised in Albuquerque, New Mexico.  She received B.A. and M.A. degrees in Political Science and World Politics from the Catholic University of America, a J.D. degree from the University of New Mexico, and an M.P.P. degree from Duke University.  She has worked as a reporter in Washington D.C., as a Vista volunteer and community college instructor in south Texas, and more recently, as an attorney for the Texas state legislature in Austin.  Her research interests lie in the areas of social policy and population studies.  She has traveled extensively for work and for fun in Japan, South Africa, and Latin America.  She has been awarded a UNC Graduate School Scholars for Tomorrow Fellowship in the area of Ethics.
