Julian Lampietti (graduated 1999). Julian completed his Master's of Environmental Management at the School of the Environment, Duke University, and received his BS from Rugers University. He worked as a
consultant for the World Bank on projects in Viet Nam and Laos, and worked in Bangkok, Thailand before coming to UNC-CH. While at UNC he worked as a research assistant with Dr. Dale Whittington. He received
financial support from the UDNP/Word Bank/WHO Special Program for Research and Training in Tropical Disease (TDR) to complete his dissertation on "Assessing Preferences for Health Care: Willingness to
Pay for Malaria Prevention in Northern Ethiopia." After graduation, Julian returned to Washington, DC where he works for the World Bank. The focus of his work program is environmental, social, and rural projects and policy in Europe and Central Asia.
