Yun-Jie (Jack)
Lee (graduated 1995). Jack's interests
focus on the interpretation and understanding of the labor relations
policy process in Taiwan, a paradigmatic newly industrialized country.
He is trying to construct an integrated "state-centered" theoretical
framework for public policy to investigate the historical and contextual
evolution of labor relations policy as well as the political economy
of development in Taiwan. He is concerned with how Taiwan can achieve
better social and political development, and how its government
can make and effectively implement better policies to achieve political
and economic modernization. A critical problem lies in the necessity
to cultivate and produce more well-trained, excellent public administrators
and researchers in public affairs. He is now teaching at the National
Open University in Taipei, Taiwan where he is a professor in the
Department of Public Administration. His earlier degrees are from
National Taiwan University, BA (political theory), and MA (public
policy).
