After a student is admitted to the graduate program in Recreation and
Leisure Studies, efforts will be made to obtain financial assistance. Upon
acceptance by the UNC graduate school and the RECR department, interested
students should apply in writing with a statement indicating why they would
like to be considered for a graduate assistantship. The number of these
assistantships varies from year to year. A decision on the number of assistantships
available and the students chosen to receive them will be done in late
April - mid May.
For further information on financial assistance including part-time work opportunities in the area and out-of state tuition remissions, please contact
