| Volunteering at the NC food bank:
two SRS participatns enjoy volunteering at the NC food Bank one day per week. They chose this activity after trying several other options. |
| Meals on Wheels volunteering: A participant delivers lunch for Meals on Wheels. Volunteering is a natural role for many participants who value work. |
| Retirement party and community connections: Jeanne celebrates her semi-retirement with a party. Reitrement parties are given at the participant's palce of work to let co-workers know about life after work and to develop a retirement culture. |
| Self advocacy meeting: Self-advocacy is now a frequent and meaningful part of this participant's life. SHe has been able to take several trips as a member of this group, including the state convention. This is a new experience for Delores and one she highly values. |
| Exercise class: Two SRS participants know the importance of staying fit during their retirement years. These women attend seniorcise every week at a local community center. |
| Senior Center entrance: This SRS participant likes spending his time at a senior center where he is an active member of a senior citizens club. |
