District 19 held its annual meeting on June 17, 2008 at the Orange Water and Sewer Authority (OWASA). Guests included current SEANC officers, who gave us the latest news from the General Assembly. The Distinguished Service Award was presented to Phyllis Fearrington.

The Member of the Year plaque was presented to Jonathan Stephenson and a desk set to Chair Marie Tate for her outstanding service to the district.

Our scholarship winners were Chelsea Perfect, who will attend Dartmouth College, and William Gore, who is a student at the University of North Carolina at Greensboro.

The election of officers and delegates for 2008-2009 was held. Marie Tate was re-elected Chair and Angela Lyght was elected 1st Vice Chair. Hazel Lunsford continues as Bylaws Chair, Wendy Watkins Auditing Chair, and Peggy Cotton Nominating Chair. Dorothy Bumphus was elected Policy Platform Chair. Ruth Lewter will be EMPAC Chair.
