Marko Dumancic will be speaking on "'No, our society cannot rely on men like that!': Khrushchev-era Anxiety about Celluloid Masculinity".

Marko Dumancic is a Croatian native and lived in Croatia's capital, Zagreb, until after the war in 1996. He then came to the States in 1996, finished high school in Boston, and then went on to complete a B.A. degree in history at Connecticut College. He came to UNC-CH in 2002 where he received his MA in the history department. He is currently completing his Ph.D. degree and teaching BCS (Bosnian-Croatian-Serbian) in the Slavic Languages department. Next academic year he will be on a Dissertation Completion Grant from the UNC Graduate School.

Turn LEFT onto S. Columbia St. from Franklin St. Follow the road through a couple of lights, it will force you to go right at the intersection by the Carolina Inn, and then take a LEFT turn onto Pittsboro St. You will pass the Carolina Inn on your left. At the next light, you will see the building in front of you.  It is next door to the School of Social Work and behind the Pharmacy School. There is free parking after 5pm in the lot below the building, with entrance on McCauley Street.
