CDS Alfa Fellowship for Russia

CDS International is currently accepting applications for the Alfa Fellowship Program in Russia 2008/09.

The Alfa Fellowship Program will place participants in professional assignments at leading Russian institutions in business, media, and civil society.

Qualified candidates must have completed at least beginning Russian to be eligible. The program includes up to seven months of language training (a three-month tutor program in the US and a four-month intensive course in Moscow). Candidates already fluent in Russian need not participate in the US-based tutor program and will travel with the rest of the group to Russia in June 2008 for the in-country language training, Moscow seminar program and professional assignment phases, which run through April 2009.

A competitive selection process will review qualified candidates with Russian language skills, as well as a graduate degree and professional experience in business, economics, journalism/mass communications, international relations, political science, government, or public policy.

The Fellowship includes round-trip transportation for selection interviews, language training, program related transportation, a monthly stipend, free housing and insurance.
