Doctoral Candidates, UNC Gillings School of Global Public Health
Lecture on Hidden Stories: A Study of Sex Workers' HIV Risk Perceptions, Knowledge and Behaviors in Turkmenistan
Rajeev Colaco is a doctoral candidate in Maternal and Child Health, UNC Gillings School
of Global Public Health. His most recent research studies/projects include HIV prevention
in India, HIV risk perceptions among sex workers in Turkmenistan, and perceptions and
consequences of domestic violence among South Asians living in the US.
Zulfiya Chariyeva is a doctoral student in the Department of Health Behavior and Health
Education, UNC Gillings School of Global Public Health. Her research interests include
HIV risk behaviors among sex workers in Turkmenistan, and how Motivational Interviewing
counseling influences HIV risk behaviors among people living with HIV in North Carolina.

Turn LEFT onto S. Columbia St. from Franklin St. Follow the road through
a couple of lights, it will force you to go right at the intersection by
the Carolina Inn, and then take a LEFT turn onto Pittsboro St. You will
pass the Carolina Inn on your left. At the next light, you will see the
building in front of you. It is next door to the School of Social Work
and behind the Pharmacy School. There is free parking after 5pm in the
lot below the building, with entrance on McCauley Street.

Room 4003 is just off the elevators on the 4th floor. The main stairs stop at the 3rd floor.
