2007 Great Decisions Lecture Series: Central Asia

Speaker: Former U.S. Ambassador to Turkmenistan Michael Cotter

Time: 7:00 P.M., Tuesday, February 6, 2007

Location: 111 Carroll Hall

Sponsored by: Great Decisions Committee and Carolina Union Activities Board (CUAB)

In this hour-long lecture, Mr. Cotter will discuss the influence of Central Asia's energy capacities and strategic location in a New Great Game. He will present a non-traditional perspective, namely one that focuses on the roles Russia, China, and perhaps the EU will play in this emerging region.

In addition, the Great Decisions committee, in conjunction with CUAB,
will be hosting a dessert session starting at 6:15 with the former Ambassador
in the student lounge directly behind the lecture room.

All students and faculty are welcome to attend, but if you plan on doing so, please RSVP to decisionsanddesserts@gmail.com.
