A professor of East European Studies at Uppsala University, Sweden,
Stefan Hedlund is a prolific writer for both academic and popular media.
Hedlund's research is focused mainly on economic development in Russia
and the former Soviet Union. His most recent English publications
include "Russia's 'Market' Economy: A Bad Case of Predatory Capitalism"
(UCL Press, 1999) and "Russian Path Dependence" (Routledge, 2005)
