Kresimir Krolo, JFDP scholar of Sociology from Croatia
"My research interest is generally concentrated on understanding the role of the new media in society. In order to fully grasp all dimensions and processes involved in these relations my professional development is devoted to obtaining multidisciplinary theoretical and methodological knowledge, primarily from media studies, cultural studies and sociology. I am also very interested in exploring the development of new forms of youth cultures and movements that are connected with the rise of new technologies and media. This includes virtual communities, MMO gaming communities, and other forms of the cybercultures. Lately, I have been exploring researches from different scientific fields concerning the influence of media violence on youth violence, as well as the analysis of moral panics that are developing around these phenomena."
