Mark Slobin, Professor of Music at Wesleyan University, will consider the revival of interest in Klezmer music in the United States and elsewhere. Slobin will cover the evolution of "klezmer," as musician, musical style, and scene, from its origins in Eastern Europe through the immigrant era and the post-1975 neo-klezmer movement through its current trends.
