A Roundtable on the December 2 Russian State Duma Elections
CSEEES is pleased to sponsor a round table discussion and analysis of the December 2 Russian State Duma elections to be held in Room 320 Languages Building, Duke West Campus, on December 11 at 4 p.m.
The roundtable discussion will consider the outcome of the elections, the manner in which they were held (i.e., without OSCE observers), and the implications for the presidential elections in March.
The speakers will be:
*Dr. Sam Greene (Carnegie Moscow Center)
*Prof. Graeme Robertson (UNC-CH Dept. of Political Science)
*Prof. Judith Kelley (Duke Dept. of Political Science and Inst. Of Public Policy)
Dr. Greene studies Russian opposition movements and civil society at the Carnegie Center in Moscow and is currently a visiting scholar at the Center for International Development at Duke.
Professor Robertson studies Russian politics and is currently in St. Petersburg observing the elections, and Professor Kelley studies election monitoring and has been following the Russian elections closely.
