Curriculum in Russian and East European Studies
The Curriculum in Russian and East European Studies offers students opportunities to familiarize themselves with the histories, cultures, institutions, and languages of the dynamic Russian and East European region. Drawing on faculty and courses from six primary departments and more than one dozen other programs, the Curriculum's interdisciplinary approach exposes students to a range of perspectives, while providing a comprehensive and coherent understanding of the region and its peoples. Study abroad programs, lectures, conferences, exhibitions, and other extracurricular activities enhance student learning experiences.

The curriculum is administered by the Center for Slavic, Eurasian, and East European Studies - a federally funded National Resource Center in collaboration with Duke University - and coordinated by the Director.

This unique program is intended to prepare students for a wide range of career options, including work in the United States Foreign Service or other branches of the federal government; international nongovernmental organizations; journalism; library and information services; teaching; as well as graduate study in related disciplines.
