National Resource
Centers
The Center
for Russian, Eurasian, and East European Studies at the University
of North Carolina has been designated one of 15 Russia and Eastern Europe
National Resource Centers (NRCs)
by the U.S. Department of Education under Title VI of the Higher Education
Act. The purpose of the NRC program is to train specialists in modern foreign
languages and area studies. Grants are awarded to institutions of higher education
for the purpose of establishing, strengthening and operating comprehensive
centers focusing on language and area studies. The other Russia and Eastern
Europe NRCs are:
