    Perry is president of East West Partners. He received an A.B. in political science in 1971 from Carolina. He is married to Linda Perry. He is a member of Steering Committee for the Carolina First Campaign and co-chair of the Raleigh Carolina First Campaign. He was the chair of the Finley Golf Course Fund-Raiser and a member of the National Development Council. He is also a former member of the University’s Board of Visitors and three-time chairman of the Carolina Executive Cup Golf Team Fund-Raiser. He is also a member of the Greater Triangle Regional Council Executive Committee and a guest lecturer at the Kenan-Flagler Business School.

    Mason is a partner at the law firm Alston & Bird LLP. She graduated from Carolina in 1979 with an A.B. in mathematics and a J.D. from the University of Michigan in 1982. Mason was a member of the Board of Visitors, the Arts and Sciences Foundation and the National Development Council. She received the Distinguished Young Alumna award in 1991. While at Carolina, she was named a North Carolina Fellow, and she received the Algernon Sydney Sullivan Award, Order of the Golden Fleece, Order of the Valkyries and Order of the Old Well. Mason serves on the Board of Trustees of the Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta and the High Museum of Art. She is also a former board member of the National Black Arts Festival.

    Carter is president of the Atlantic Corporation of Wilmington. He received an A.B. in journalism in 1971 from Carolina. He is married to Susan Carter. His involvement at the University includes the Board of Visitors, Morehead Scholarship Selection Committee, the steering committee for the Carolina First Campaign, School of Journalism Board of Visitors, and the Educational Foundation. He has been the chair of the Board of Trustees’ University Affairs Committee since 2002. In addition, he has served in the National Development Council and the Journalism Scholarship selection committee. Other civic activities include chairman of the Wilmington Industrial Development, member of the Boy Scouts Executive Committee and elder at First Presbyterian Church.

    Clay is the chancellor of the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and professor of city planning. As chancellor, he has oversight responsibility for graduate and undergraduate education, student life and student services. He graduated from Carolina with an A.B. degree with honors in 1968 and earned his Ph.D. in 1975 from MIT. He received the University’s Distinguished Alumnus Award in 2002 and serves on the Academic Leadership Program National Advisory Board for the Institute for the Arts and Humanities at UNC. Dr. Clay, widely known for his work in U.S. housing policy, is president of the Board of Directors of the Community Builders, the nation's largest nonprofit developer of affordable housing. He serves on several boards and councils that address public policy and education in the United States and abroad. He and his wife have one daughter.

    Ellison is president and chief executive officer of the Ellison Company, Inc. He graduated from Carolina with an A.B. in history in 1969 and an M.B.A. in 1972. He is married to Jane Ellison. He is a former member of the General Alumni Association Board of Directors. He is the past chair of the Board of Visitors, the Executive Committee of the UNC Educational Foundation and past co-chair of the Kenan Stadium Expansion Fund-Raising Project. Ellison has served as the chairman of the Foundation of Greater Greensboro, Greensboro Human Relations Commission, United Way of Greensboro and the Virginia Episcopal School Board of Trustees.

    Fulton is chairman of the Board of Directors and former chief executive officer of Bassett Furniture Industries. He graduated with a B.S./B.A. from Carolina in 1957. He was president of Sara Lee Corporation, Chicago, from 1987-1993. Fulton served as dean of the Kenan-Flagler Business School at Carolina from 1994 until 1997. He is co-chairman of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill Carolina First Campaign Steering Committee and serves on the Board of Visitors for the Kenan-Flagler Business School. Fulton has received Carolina's Davie Award and Distinguished Service Medal as well as the John Woodworth Leslie Humanitarian Award, and the Maya Angelou Tribute Achievement Award.

    Gardner is a partner in Fulcrum Ventures, an Atlanta-based private equity firm focused on providing capital to emerging growth companies. He is a founding board member of Chatham Capital, a mezzanine finance firm serving small and middle market companies. Gardner graduated from Carolina with a B.A. in 1977. His University activities include the Kenan-Flagler Business School Board of Visitors, board of the Kenan Institute of Private Enterprise, and the steering committee for the Carolina First Campaign. He also teaches in the MBA and BSBA programs at Kenan-Flagler. He chaired the University’s International Studies Advisory Board and helped lead efforts to build the FedEx Global Education Center. He was the founder and chief executive officer of OnTarget, Inc., a sales training and consulting firm.

    Hyde is the president of J. R. Hyde III Family Foundation and director of the J.R. Hyde Sr. Foundation. The foundations support public education, civil rights and other worthy endeavors. She earned a B.A. in English and religion from Carolina in 1983. She is married to Pitt Hyde. As a Carolina student, Hyde was a Morehead Scholar and was inducted into the Order of the Old Well. She began her career in the University’s development office, serving as executive director of the Arts and Sciences Foundation from 1987 to 1992. On campus, she co-chairs the Women’s Leadership Council and serves on the Carolina First Campaign Steering Committee and the External Advisory Board of the Institute for the Arts and Humanities. In Memphis, she is an active board member of KIPP Academy, Shelby Farms Park Conservancy, the Women’s Foundation, and New Leaders for New Schools.

    Russell is managing director of BAA, a unit of BlackRock. She was previously a principal at Quellos Private Capital Markets until it was acquired by BlackRock in October 2007. She graduated from Carolina with an A.B. in English and political science in 1977 and earned an M.B.A. from Columbia University in 1983. Her University service has included the University Board of Visitors, the Board of Advisors of the School of Public Health, a Trustee of the Endowment Fund, a director of the UNC Foundation and the Board of Directors of the Foundation Investment Fund, Inc. She is a former member of the Board of Directors of the UNC Health Care System. Russell was a general partner with Intersouth Partners, an early stage venture capital firm, and a founding member and vice president of the Duke Management Company, where she was responsible for the private investment portfolio and an assistant vice president of Duke University. She also was vice president at McMillion/Eubanks Capital Management in Greensboro, and was a consultant with Cambridge Associates in Boston prior to returning to North Carolina. She formerly served on the Boards of Commonfund Capital, the North Carolina Biotechnology Center, the Council for Entrepreneurial Development Board, and as a trustee of St. Mary’s School.

    Schwab is managing director of Carousel Capital. He graduated from Carolina with a B.A. in 1967 and an M.B.A. from the Wharton School of Business in 1972. He is married to Jane Schwab and has four children, three of whom attended Carolina. His activities at the University have included Board of Visitors, Kenan-Flagler Board of Visitors, National Development Council, the Campaign Steering Committee and the UNC Management Company. He was a recipient of the General Alumni Association's Distinguished Service Medal. He is a member of the board of directors of several privately held companies. Schwab is the past chair of the N.C. Blumenthal Performing Arts Center, the Charlotte Chamber of Commerce, the Carolinas Partnership and the North Carolina Outward Bound School.

    Stallings attended Carolina from 1956 until 1960 and was a three-year letterman in football. He then played for the Washington Redskins. Don is CEO of Eagle Transport, Corp. Inc. He is married to the former Billie Jones. He is a past chairman of the Educational Foundation and former member of the Athletic Council and General Alumni Association Board. Don is a past chairman of the National Association of Travel Stop Owners and has been active in numerous community activities in his hometown of Rocky Mount, NC.

    Winston is the chief executive officer of Winston Hospitality, Inc. He received an A.B. in economics and political science in 1984 from Carolina. He is married to Tracy Winston. Winston is currently a Director of the Research Triangle Foundation. He is a member of the Institute of the Arts and Humanities Board of Advisors and the National Development Council. He is a past member of the University's Board of Visitors and a former treasurer of the Raleigh Chamber of Commerce. He is the former chair of the Raleigh-Durham International Airport Authority Board, former trustee for Ravenscroft High School, and a former board member of the North Carolina Economic Development Board, the North Carolina Art Museum Foundation and the Wake County Convention and Visitors Bureau.
