Research Rocks! is a new program offered by the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill for high school sophomores. The program will give students the opportunity to work with graduate and post-doctoral students from the Carolina campus to complete a year-long research project. We will have workshop presentations on citation and research methodology as well. All student participants will be given a password to access all online UNC library resources.
We are particularly interested in first generation, low income and minority students, as these groups are currently underrepresented in higher education and in research. This program is designed for the student who has shown promise but has not necessarily reached his or her full academic achievement potential.
