The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill College of Arts and Sciences Our goal is to provide efficient, helpful, and timely service to the University community so that Carolina students may benefit from an outstanding, research-based, academically rigorous undergraduate curriculum.
Working with faculty and staff, we help shape and monitor the general education requirements for undergraduate students, known as the Making Connections curriculum. We also provide accurate, authoritative information about undergraduate degrees as well as major and minor requirements, which appear in the Undergraduate Bulletin. Faculty and staff look to us for assistance in creating and revising undergraduate courses and developing curriculum proposals. We insure that they are all reviewed as quickly as possible. Students look to us for information about Special Studies (SPCL) courses, the interdisciplinary studies major, First Year Seminars, and petitions to fulfill General Education requirements by substitution.
