Old General College Requirements
and Perspectives Requirements :
Can be satisfied* with courses taken from existing Basic Skills and Perspectives lists or with certain NEW curriculum courses (if taken in fall 2006 or after):
ENGL 11, 12 ENGL 101, 102
FL through level 3 FL through level 3
2 PHYA courses Any 2 PHYA courses, one of which may be an LF (#100-199)
MATH 10 + 1 MATH MATH 110 + any QR course
2 Nat Sci, 1 w/lab 1 PL courses, 1 PX course
2 Social Sciences (from 2 different departments) 2 Non-Historical SS courses (from 2 different departments)
Fine Arts Any VP course
Literature Any LA course
Pre-1700 History Any WB course
Other Western History Any course approved as HS and NA
Non-Western History Any course approved as BN or GL
Philosophy Any PH course
Cultural Diversity Any US course
Swim Test Cancelled
Note on COMM 9: Students may use any current CI course, or any course taken before 2006 that has since been classified as CI, to fulfill this requirement. Permission to use a previously taken course to meet an unfulfilled requirement applies only to COMM 9.  
* No double-counting of Gen Ed courses; major courses may not count unless specified by the student's major

 

Old A&S Perspectives Requirements: **Satisfied in NEW curriculum with:
Western History Any course approved as HS and NA > 199
NWCMP*** Any BN or GL > 199
[if "other Western" taken at GC level]
Social Science Any Non-Historical SS course > 199
Aesthetic Any VP or LA course > 199
Natural Science/Math Any QI or PL course > 199****
Philosophy Any PH course > 199
** No major/minor courses may be used to satisfy perspective requirements
***All BA and most BS degrees require students to take a NWCMP at the GC or A&S level.
****If PL, student must choose a Life Science if two Physical sciences were taken at GC level, and vice versa
