Forms/Instructions: Petitions
Cluster programs, like all proposals for curricular change, must be reviewed and approved by the Subcommittee on General Education and the Administrative Boards of the General College and College of Arts and Sciences. The deadlines for submission of cluster program proposals (in hard copy, to the office of Undergraduate Curricula) are September 15 and January 15.
Organizers of proposed cluster programs that happen to incorporate new courses need to be aware that new courses must also be submitted for review through the online submission system at Faculty/Staff central (for instructions see the "Course Changes" document ). Thus, new course syllabi affiliated with clusters are actually submitted in two forms—one hard copy of the course syllabus goes to the Office of Undergraduate Curricula (as part of the complete cluster program proposal) and one e-copy is submitted online at Faculty/Staff central.
Courses that are conceived specifically as Maymester courses must take yet another, third, form. Instructors of proposed Maymester courses are asked to submit a copy of the syllabus to the office of the Senior Associate Dean for Undergraduate Education, who is charged to address the special budgetary considerations attached to the Maymester program.
