 James W. Dean, Ph.D.
James W. Dean Jr. is associate professor of management and associate dean at the Kenan-Flagler Business School. He is also the former program director for Transformations to Quality Organizations at the National Science Foundation. His research interests include organizational change and performance improvement, strategic decision making, organizational cynicism, and aesthetic aspects of organizations.
He has published numerous articles in academic journals and business publications, as well as two books, and has served on the editorial boards of several journals devoted to the management of technology, operations, quality, and organizations. He is a former senior examiner for the Malcolm Baldrige National Quality Award, and has performed research and/or consulting projects with numerous Fortune 500 companies.
