Carolina SpeakersWhat is a Speakers Program?
A program that sends University faculty and administrators across the state to speak before community groups.

Why have a Speakers Program?
The University's mission is threefold: to provide teaching, research, and public service. Carolina Speakers helps fulfill the University's commitment to public service.

Carolina Speakers is designed to reach out to the citizens of the state to provide programs of interest to community groups. The goal of the program is to have speakers in all of North Carolina's 100 counties.

Who are the speakers?
Award-winning faculty and administrators volunteer for this program at the invitation of the Chancellor. A number of the speakers' topics focus on North Carolina.

Who is the Speakers Program for?
Community groups of all sorts, but mainly nonprofit:

  • Libraries
  • Community colleges
  • Learning groups
  • Newcomer groups
  • Museums
  • Civic organizations
  • Alumni clubs
  • Business organizations
  • Retirement centers

How do I arrange for a speaker?
Review the Carolina Speakers website or brochure/booklet.
Choose a speaker and an alternate.
Select a date and time.
Complete a Speaker Request form.
Submit the form to the Carolina Speakers Office.

What does it cost?
Carolina Speakers is a free program, sponsored by the University. There is no cost to community groups.
