Gerhard L. Weinberg, Ph.D.

Professor Weinberg is an internationally recognized authority on Nazi Germany and the origins and course of World War II. A retired Kenan Professor of History, he is the author or editor of numerous books and articles on twentieth-century European and world history. Formerly the president of the German Studies Association, he has held numerous other offices in such professional organizations as the American Historical Association and the Southern Historical Association. Weinberg has also served on U.S. government advisory committees.
