Ray C. Williams, D.M.D.
Dr. Williams, an internationally recognized authority on dentistry, lectures around the world on the exciting advances in dentistry and dental medicine. Professor and chair of the Department of Periodontology, Williams is also chair of the Advisory Board of the Journal of Periodontology and is on the editorial board of five other journals.
In his talk, he discusses how dentistry can look ahead with eagerness to the role of a medical approach to periodontal disease management. This progress in a medical model, coupled with similar progress in a mechanical model of treating periodontitis, suggests that an exciting new era has arrived for the prevention and treatment of a troubling and widespread disease.
