As part of the Tracking Project, we generated 23 in-depth county reports concerning the politics of county welfare reform from 1995-2000. We contracted with Faculty Associates from 11 UNC institutions across North Carolina to complete these reports. The studies provide a rich, contextual look at the ramifications of devolving power to counties, how county actors respond to changes in responsibilities and workload, and the differing goals of major county actors. The in-depth reports were completed in Summer 2000.
In addition, we surveyed our Faculty Associates concerning some overall themes from the reports. You can read the summary of the themes, all the reports, and a one-page executive summary on all counties on this page.
