On May 14, 2002, the Tracking project held a major symposium that discussed
upcoming reauthorization
of the 1996 federal legislation, the fiscal changes associated with
block grant (TANF) funds in NC and its counties, the impact of
decentralizing welfare policymaking power in NC, welfare reform clients
in a changing economy,
and county organizational change in social service departments in response
to recent welfare reforms.
