WOMEN'S STUDIES FACULTY

In addition to the core faculty in Women's Studies, a large number of faculty members at UNC-CH who have teaching and research interests in Women's Studies and gender issues offer ample opportunity for students to undertake theses and dissertations in a variety of disciplines.  (Please see Faculty Listing on our website.)

LIBRARY RESOURCES

UNC-CH has the most extensive holdings of library materials on women's studies in the South.  The libraries of the University maintain major acquisitions programs for current and retrospective materials on women and related topics.  Although resources on women in nearly all areas of the humanities and social sciences are collected to some extent, library holdings are particularly strong in history, politics, and socioeconomic conditions and for Southern women, Afro-American women, feminism/women's rights, and labor.  In addition to printed resources, UNC-CH libraries possess significant collections of research materials on women in the form of sound and video recordings, photographs, oral history, transcripts, manuscripts, and computer-readable files.  Many of these are housed in the Southern Historical Collection.  Further information on these resources can be found in Resources for Women's Studies in the University of North Carolina Libraries.

Additionally, students at UNC-CH have access to the library resources at Duke University which also has extensive holdings for research on women and gender.
