Join the Celebration of LGBTIQ Ally Week | January 22-26, 2007

Tuesday, January 30, 2007 | "The Legacy of Matthew Shepard" | 7 p.m. | Great Hall, Student Union

Judy Shepard's eldest son, Matthew Shepard, died after having been brutally attacked—because he was gay. Through her national speaking program, Judy Shepard shares Matthew's values of respect and dignity for others. She is determined to make a difference—to do what she can to ensure that no other parent will have to endure what she has. This will be a powerful evening that emphasizes the importance of creating schools and communities that are accepting of everyone, regardless of sex, national origin, race, religion, disability, sexual orientation, gender identity and/or expression. To learn more about Judy Shepard's work and the Matthew Shepard Foundation, visit www.matthewshepard.org.
