Learn. The Carolina R.O.C.T.S. Youth Leadership Program will center on two major themes. First, high-school students will learn leadership through adversity and how to be successful leaders in their schools. The second theme is to improve the participants’ public speaking skills. Working with a local public speaking organization, they will learn how to evaluate the speeches of others fairly and effectively, and how to organize and deliver their own speeches. With a focus on Dr. King’s “I Have a Dream” Speech, students will learn the potential impact of their own voices. Sponsor: Carolina R.O.C.T.S. Contact: Darius Duncan at djduncan@live.unc.edu.
