Popular Movements: A Panel Discussion| 7:00 pm | FedEx Global Center Nelson Mandela Auditorium
Action. Hosted by the Campus Y, the panel will explore four contemporary movements: the events of the Arab Revolutions, the Immigrant Rights movement, the Environmental movement and the "Occupy Everywhere" movement sparked by the Occupy Wall St. protests. How do protests today differ from those in Dr. King's time? What have we learned from the Civil Rights movement, and how do we learn from—or break from—the past? Does this generation have a different mode of creating social change? This panel hopes to cultivate a critical dialogue discussing the impact these movements have had on our world. Sponsor: Campus Y.
